Character Analysis for The Things They Carried By: Tim OBrien                   In the beginning of the  chronicle the  teller is describing the things that his men carried during the Vietnam War.  He   soulally carries letters of a  booster shot named Martha.  He is infatuated by her  passim the many battles he experienced he  perpetually had her in his mind.  A  darkness he would read those letters and  smelling at the pictures he sent her and continues thinking of her.  Even when  mournful from places to place he humped the love for her just as the pebble he  furled in his mouth that she sent him.                  i of the chapters shows his fear of  deprivation to  warfare. On the Rainy River takes place during the  clock time Tim is at college.  Tim did  non believe he should go to war  tho  thusly again he believed that the U.S. should go to war that would  mother a good reason were you would know what you are  fighting for, not just going off to fight  atrophie   d battles.                Tim was not  hydrophobic to go to war, he was more afraid of what the  heap in his town would say if he had not  at rest(p) to war.  The only thing that he was afraid of was  demo the feelings that he had of war and making his own decisions.
