Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry Essay Example for Free

Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry Essay fair makes mightily means that the whites ar never rail ated for their actions whenever a white does something distinctly wrong to a black dapple the black has done right. In fact, the blame is pushed to the blacks instead, simply because whites are perceived to be the superior wake. What is counted as chastely right or morally wrong depends on how society perceives it, when what is usually right or wrong should non be determined by how the legal age feels towards another race, especially when they are biased. As such, this has resulted in a lot of unjust treatwork forcet towards the blacks. This can be clearly seen through three incidents Mr Morrisons passage of a job, the burning of the Berrys and Cassies encounter with Lillian dungaree in Strawberry. Firstly, an incident that illustrates White makes right is Mr Morrisons loss of a job, since he is depicted as being in the wrong although he was provoked into the fight, and he is mad e to bear the consequences although there are no consequences for the others, simply because of their race. Mr Morrison lost his job as he got in a fight with some custody whose fault was theirs. However, the other men did not get fired because they was white. This shows that ones actions consequences differs based on race. startle a fight is clearly wrong, and as the whites were the ones who started it, it is only fair if they got fired. However, even though Mr Morrison did not start the fight, he got fired instead of the other men just because they were white and deemed superior to blacks. This shows that blacks are not allowed to start a fight without being punished regardless of the injustice targeted at them. However, whites are allowed to because of primal reasons and they will not be punished as they have justifiable reasons. Thus, white makes right is clearly shown in this case, where we see that regardless of whether the whites do the wrong things towards the blacks, the m ain detrimental consequences will still be for the blacks and not the whites, simply because of racism. Also, this shows us that when whites do something which is wrong, it is simply brushed aside and they do not rightfully suffer many consequences, however the blacks suffer the consequences instead once they decide to reply. Secondly, an incident that illustrates White makes right is the burning of the Berrys.White men institutionalized tin can Henry of flirtin with a white woman and began rammin the back of they car and lit him afire with them boys. When Henrietta, a relative of the Berrys, reported it to the police, he called her a liar and aint a thing gonna be done bout it. Attacking and killing somebody is clearing wrong and illegal. However, the white men go unpunished. This clearly shows that white men can get away with abusing and killing black men. To justify their actions, they find an excuse, which in this case John Henry had been flirting with a white woman, while p robably all he did was smile in the wrong place at the wrong time. The blacks clearly did not do anything wrong, but Henriettas testimony is low-powered to make the police investigate. This shows that the blacks are denied justice despite the fact they are being victimised. It also shows that the truth is meaningless in white society. Thus, white makes right as the power of language is determined by race rather than validity, so they can come up with an excuse to justify their actions easily and accuse blacks of doing and result in them being punished. It is also extremely difficult for blacks to prove their innoncence, since people are generally biased against them, whereas the words spoken by whites are considered credible and believable. This also shows that white makes right, since the whites are deemed to be reliable and their statements the truth, as opposed to the blacks who are labelled as lying even if they tell the truth, so what the blacks say would naturally be labelled a s wrong while the whites would be labelled as right.Thirdly, an incident that illustrates White makes right is Cassies encounter with Lillian Jean in Strawberry. When Cassie bumped into Lillian Jean, she demanded Cassie to get down in the road and apologize by addressing her as Miz Lillian Jean. As whites are deemed to be superior to blacks in white society, when a black collides into a white, blacks should apologise to the whites and never the other way round as they are always perceived as correct. However, if a black were to demand fair, equal treatment, it is stated that this is not necessary as it is considered demeaning for the whites to apologise to blacks, or even to address them normally. This shows us that regardless of blacks intentions, and whether they do something out of accident or not, it really depends on the whites perception of their actions. The moment whites decide that their actions are wrong, such as bumping into Lillian jean accidentally, we see that the Cassi e is mechanically labelled as wrong based on her actions. However, if Lillian Jean were to engage in the alike(p) action, she would not be forced to apologise to Cassie, neither would she be forced to call Cassie with the honorific of Miss. Thus, white makes right since the whites are able to state whether the blacks actions have wronged them or not, even when the blacks did it unintentionally, and we see that if the whites do the same actions on the blacks, they do not need to apologise, whereas the blacks not only need to apologise, but also have to address them with respectful terms. To conclude, the three incidents that illustrate White makes right are Mr Morrisons loss of a job, the burning of the Berrys and Cassies encounter with Lillian Jean in Strawberry. Mr Morrisons loss of job shows that regardless of what the blacks do, as long as they respond to the whites when provoked, then they are considered to be at fault and are made to bear the consequences. The burning of the Ber rys show that the power of language is determined by race rather than validity, making whatever the whites say reliable and making it difficult for the blacks to prove their innocence. Cassies encounter with Lillian Jean in Strawberry shows how the blacks actions, even when unintentional, can be construed as bad just because the whites perceive them to be so, and the blacks are made to apologise to the whites with honorific terms of respect even though they may not have intentionally done anything to harm them. Thus, this clearly shows how white makes right.

Social media is the shared interaction between human communications. Social media has had a profound effect over the past several years, and has greatly changed crisis communication. It has do crisis communication more efficient and made it on a wider scale. This paper discusses the role of social media on crisis communication. To understand the role social media symbolizes in crisis communication, we must(prenominal) first understand what crisis communication, and social media are. Social media is the shared interaction and communication between organizations, communities, and individuals. There are three things that make social media useful immediacy, ubiquity, and availability. immediateness meaning social media results in instantaneous transformation of information. Social media is Ubiquitous meaning that hundreds o f millions of individuals use social media. It encourages globalization, interaction, and participation. Availability meaning social media is available to anyone with an network connection. Social media has definitely changed communication and crisis response. It has been a pivotal role in peoples lives. With rise of social media communication has been democratized.Social media determines how news is communicated. Social media allows us to communicate our thoughts, connect with people across the globe by reaching millions around the world. Increase in technology social media has become an distinguished personal manner of reaching audience. Half of the general population participates in online communication like Face Book, Twitter, and emails. It provides opportunity to participate, contribute ideas, and share knowledge. Social media is an efficient way for crisis communication for companies to defend its reputation. If a company has a blog and negative remarks have been made, cri sis communicator can respond by counter remarks. One big role that a social media has to make sure their team, are the ones who are actually the voice of the organization. With the right tools in place any social media can play an important role in crisis communication. The rapid growth of mobile applications increase the potential for reaching a large audience in a very short period of time. Through mobile application quicker accurate information is delivered to a broad audience around the globe. While social media is ever-changing the efficiency of crisis communication, its also changing the practices of crisis communication, and the rate at which its advancing. The three strengths of social media (immediacy, ubiquity, and availability) allow crisis managers and instigators to communicate and manage crisis with great speed. However at the same time crises can be created on social media itself, mainly those affecting businesses. Another way that social media affects crisis communica tion, is the fact that it has changed what used to be regional crises into global crises. As you can see social media is an important way of reaching audiences. In this case the audience must be informed of crises. In the end if it werent for social media, it would be difficult to handle crisis.Referencehttp//www.boozallen.com/insights/insight-detail/4242069http//www.danlandau.net/writing/sources/research/danlandau_thesis.pdf http//www.katebrodock.com/2011/11/the-role-of-a-social-media-communicator-during-a-crisis-a-conversation-with-chrisbrogan/

And alternative bars having laps at a same level. exactly columns bring laps at a same level because of difficulties of binding of long bars and reinforcement is crowded at the junction of beam and column. Lap is avoided at critical position of tension and compression.SCHEDULE OF BARSSchedule of bars gives the number of bars required in each type for a reinforcement network. And lap should not be allowed to be in the tension portion and critical compression portion also. When we are doing sc hedule for slab if part of slab is finished for the difference work we take site measurement for required length of reinforcement. The typical lap position for beam is shown belowSLABSlab is a kind of plate, which thunder mug carry loads. Basically slabs are divided in to two types as one-way spanning slab and two-way spanning slab. Depending on the type of slab the amount of reinforcement, which placed to resist the moments, is different. Most probably slabs are reinforced only for tension and compression is supported by concrete. Usually for middle of slab reinforcement is placed at bottom and edge (near the beam or supports) of slab reinforcement is placed at top. But basement floor slab reinforcement is placed in opposition way. Therefore middle of slab reinforcement is at top and edge (around the beam) of slab reinforcement is at bottom. Between the top bar and bottom bar of the slab should be maintained while concreting it may be upset(a) due to load which is the load of w orkers, instrument and concrete flow pipe. Overall reinforcement cover is checked by leveling instrument. To keep the space between those two bars space bar is used.BEAMBeam is the load-transferring member building, which transfer load from slab to column. In the beams tension is supported by reinforcement and compression is supported by concrete and reinforcement. In most occasions, middle of beam undergoes sagging moment and beam nearby support undergoes hogging moment. For supporting the higher tension, excess tension bars are inserted at bottom of middle and top of edge therefore nearby support. But basement floor reinforcement is in the opposition way. For basement floor beams additional tension bars are inserted at top of middle and bottom of nearby pile caps. While bars are bound to the beam space between two bars should not be less than 1.5 times bar diameter. This minimum space is required for, to form an enough bonding between reinforcement concrete and to minimize the dam age while impact load is applied on the beam reinforcement take dynamic movement.COLUMNColumn is the main member to transfer the load to foundation. Column is mainly intentional for carrying the compression. But it is designed to support the moment also while considering the eccentricity and side force therefore wind load. In column compression is carried by concrete and reinforcement. Column reinforcement is mainly designed for support the compression and small amount of tension that is caused by moment. For large size bars (T 32, T25, etc.) lap is held at same level. Due to the handling puzzle and if the lap is in the junction of column and beam concreting is very difficult few time huney homb may occur. Column typical lap is shown in the suppose 7.4. Probably most of columns reinforcements are symmetrical almost two axes. First when bars are bound verticality of bar is maintained.SECTIONAL VIEW footstep caseStair case is same as slab reinforcement. Therefore tension reinf orce is provided at bottom and at the edges tension reinforcement is provided at top. present in addition to slab close to tension reinforcement is provided junctions.STIRRUPStirrup is main element in supporting the shear force. If we consider column, stirrups are used for to hole the vertical bar together. Due to load column mar bulk in this situation cracks may appear in vertical direction. Without adventure bulk stirrups bound the column. In the beam, there is more probability to happen the shear failer because it transfer load horizontally. Beam is not a continuous element that is the compound of cement, sand, aggregate and reinforcement. These elements are bound by bond, which may fail in transferring the shear stress. Of cause we use stirrups to carry out the shear stress for beams and columns. In our site stirrups are made by bar bending machine. Stirrup shape is shown in the figure 7.6Industrial Training ReportIndustrial Training ReportINTRODUCTIONIn this duration 20/4/20 09 until 2/10/2009, I had been depute to a company take SILVERLAKE administration SDN BHD, which is located at LEVEL 2A KPMG TOWER FIRST AVENUE, BANDAR UTAMA 47800 PETALING, SELANGOR to comp allowe my internship. On the 1st day, I nourish been brief by their staffs at there about the rules of company and how their organization works. later on that, we had assigned to follow different supervisors and department. I had been assigned to clients side which is at KWSP building under squad LEGAL management SYSTEM (LMS). On the 2nd day, I suck in to go there to inhabit my internship until 2/10/2009. Basically, my team at KWSP building is handling about a website surname legal/battery-acidl that can let users/employees to effect their problems. Those tasks are like approve, assign, and reject, accept case work with case consideration, criminal, civil, court accomplish get along roughly calculation fees, date some reports for review and etc. My team put one across 4 senior s taffs and me 1 trainee. They had briefly t hoar me how they perform their tasks and tutor me a lot of knowledge about working.Software Exposure (software used, roves or assignments completed)During this industry instruction, I had used some software to do my tasks and projects. Example of software, iseries Navigator, IBM RPGLE software, effective System, XML generator, SCITE version 1.63, Microsoft word, Microsoft outstrip, Microsoft power accommodate and hotmail (email). They had taught me how to use some software that I dont know, so that I can do my tasks. Following, I bequeath briefly break how I use the software to do my tasks.iSeries NavigatorI briefly describe iSeries Navigator is a powerful graphical interface to easily work with the iSeries server. To use iSeries Navigator, we need to have server connections that connect to the environments of our work. So we need a login ID and password to login to the environments, after we login, there get out be a key of func tions that we can use for perform our tasks. Example of functions like, security, network, entropybases, backup and etc, all those functions still have sub functions like roleplay SQL manus and etc. In here, I had been assigned some tasks on economise SQL statements by using SQL Performance Monitor which is sub function of Databases tasks. This function can allows us to keep hang back of the resources that SQL statements use. Basically, I using this software to run some SQL statements, recoup some useful data records to do bear uponence, update, insert or delete some data records in the database. Example like update users details, insert new users details, for checking purpose and etc.IBM RPGLE softwareThis is complex software that about back end schema and also related to database. I didnt learn this software before so they have to enlighten me more about this software and some useful commands to do my tasks. Example of the useful or important commands like dspff= display turn on houses, call function, and etc. This software is related to database, back end strategy and is very important, so they just teach me some simple and basic commands to recall some data, breeding for me to refer. I usually use this software to retrieve some useful set forthation from database. For example, after I enter some command like dspff lg8068i (files name), then the governing body will show out the line of merchandises name, length, position and text of the file we choose. This mean if we deepen the interface of the modules, example like want to add more fields or update something, then we have to use tis clay to add the fields that we need. Example like we wan modify the text fields length, we also need to modify using this dodge, veer the length of the text that we want. later on do any converts, then we have to chip in the XML file again and replace it to the server. When generate XML file, we also have to refer the information from here.Legal System Actually it is system software of a web summon, this system include screen display like views, pages, menus and etc Scripts like javascripts, VBscripts system customisation, system maintenance, user password validate and etc. All of these are use to build the EPF web page that we using now. This system software can let us create webpage, example like create buttons, textbox, dropdownlist, and write coding like javascripts,VBscripts, SQL query and etc. I had been assigned to write some javascript code for example some functions, event those things during my industri training. For example, I had to use this software to write some code to create a function for a dropdownlist to perform certain events. After select the value from dropdownlist, the function will perform some action according to the value that we select, for example, enabled a text field for us to modify and update the information or display some information that we need. Im also writing the coding for others functions, example like if-else statement, display, get value and etc. Besides that, this system software also can let us maintain users detail for example users password, report maintenance. There is a part name maintenance view page for us to create, write or modify our coding and also test our coding or surface faulting. After all had done, then save it in this system, then we can go the related page to test the function that we did just now.XML GeneratorXML Generator is software that can let us generate XML file, XML was designed to transport and reposition data, with focus on what data is. XML document is a string of characters. This XML Generator is done by that staffs who works at here. The XML file is save as notepad format, so we can edit it by using notepad. When we need to generate a XML file for a module, we need to login to RPGLE system to retrieve the data attribute from related duck, for example like data field, length, data type and etc, and then copy the livelong table to notepad and save it. After that, copy the notepad file to source folder of XML generator. After that, we can key in the request name, transaction code, action code, input field file, un-repeated field file, repeated field file and etc. After complete build, we need to replace this XML file for the old XML file in the server. There will be an interface of XML generator software at appendix part. We need to generate again the XML file if we had change data type field or data attribute in the database, for example, add more data field, or like changed the field length of some data. After finish doing this, then had to doing scrutiny on the field that we had modify or added. For example, we had change the data field length of description field, and then we need to test whether the field length can broth the data that we had already set. XML basically is use for web services, parse data, and store data.SciTE version 1.63SciTE is software that we using here for write coding. SciTE hav e the feature of automatic syntax styling and it can hold multiple files in memory at one time but only one file will be visible. There are two panes in SciTE, the editing pane and the output pane. The output pane is located either to the right of the editing pane or below it. SciTE can perform commands to compile or run source files with the output from these commands directed into the output pane. SciTE currently is able to syntax bolt these languages C++, C, javascript, HTML and etc. We using this software to write those coding for example like javascript, SQL scripts, and others coding. We are using this software because it support many programming language and also have automatic syntax styling. Besides that, this software also can let us easily write our coding for example like it can let us easily control the alignment of coding and have coding line calculation find and front function. All these functions can let us write coding with more efficient and effective.Microsoft w ordIt is a useful software and is using for documentation tasks. I using Microsoft word to do documentation about home run screen of all the modules or sub modules of the system, then briefly apologize what is the contain and name of each of the modules. This documentation is done for users to let them understand the condition of those modules and how to perform their task by using those modules in the system. Besides that, merge field also done by Microsoft word, after insert merge field, we can show those information from database. Press alt+f9 will show the coding that hidden and we can modify and update it.Microsoft ExcelI use Microsoft excel to write SQL Statements. They give me some task like write SQL scripts, they will give me all the information that I need to update and I will write my SQL scripts like update statement in excel. Actually write in excel is for backup purpose.Microsoft Power PointI am using this software to do some power advert slide for user. In this po wer point slide, I have included some diagram example like activity diagram, and some flow diagram. I also using power point to show the flow of those activities, follow step by step and sequence so that the user can understand how the flow of activities go.Hotmail (E-Mail)My team was doing a project on enchanting inform email to users so they use my e-mail for testing purpose. I using my email to test the system is it will send a correct email to the user after doing some action accept any case, any status changes or etc in the system. I have to check is it the information of the email that send to my mail is accurate when refer to the task that I had did in the module of the system. For example, I have to check the information like employees no, name, case files no, date and etc is it same with the case that I perform those tasks. After I perform some tasks, it will send an e-mail to my hotmail to inform me those latest update.Hardware Exposure (software used, projects or assignm ents completed)During this industry training, I have been provided a desktop with specification pentiumr 4 cpu, 3.06GHz, 1 GB ram and 80GB inviolable disk. Besides that, there is a share printer that can let us use for print documents.Environment Exposure (e.g. working relationship with colleagues, clients, management, etc)During this whole industri training, I was assigned to KWSP building to enshroud my training. The location of KWSP building is around Masjid Jamek, I always go work by taking LRT from Wangsa Maju, so it is very convenient. The environment of the KWSP is very entire and also provides us a lot of good facilities. Besides that, the working environment is also very clean and comfortable. There are 4 trainees including me that had been assigned to KWSP building to continue our training. All of us had been assigned to different departments and do our tasks according to our team. For example, main task for BDS team is about database and our LEGAL team is about front-e nd like SQL, retrieve data show to user. My team need to communicate with users (workers) from KWSP because we need to get feedback from them about our system that performs tasks for them. So our team got a good relationship with those users from KWSP to make sure that the systems can perform tasks successfully without errors. Colleagues in my team are very good and friendly. After they giving me some tasks to do, they will explain to me how to do and also teach me if I dont know how to do. When I got some problems or errors, they will teach me how to find those errors and teach me how to solve those problems. They always teach me a lot of useful knowledge about working and guide me when I had some problems. I really had learnt a lot of knowledge and gain a lot of working capture from them.ConclusionFinally I had finished my industry training in this semester and now is already started a new semester to continue study. During my training semester, I really had learnt a lot of knowl edge from my colleagues and some working experience from them. I am glad to become their trainee because they really teach me a lot and when I got facing some problems, they willing to teach me how to solve it or help me to solve those errors. This industry training really provides a lot of benefits for me. During this training, I had a chance to learning from them while working, besides that, I also know more about the working environment at outside. Other than gain knowledge about the programming language from my working place, I also learn more about teamwork from them. In working environment, work as a team is important for complete a project, so teamwork is important for working. working is not same as study, in working environment we need to have a good communication skill because when working, communications between employees or clients are very important.I really learnt a lot of extra knowledge from my colleagues during my industry training, I really appreciate it and thanks for them in program line me and guide me along this whole training. Besides that, I also thanks college for provide us a industry training so that we can learnt some knowledge and working experience before we going out for the real working environment. These really help us a lot in our future tense when we are ready for working.Appendix(calendar calendar monthly Reports)KOLEJ TUNKU ABDUL RAHMANSCHOOL OF ARTS AND accomplishmentINDUSTRIAL TRAINING (FROM 21/4/08 TO 4/10/08)STUDENTS periodical describePlease tick ( - ) or specify your answer where required.1. By using this program, we can update and check the data in the database that we want. So in this week, they give me a task to update those selected data in the database by using this program. Besides that, I also have to retrieve those selected data from database and check whether those data are correct.Week 2 (From 8-6-09 to 12-6-09 )At last week, they already teach me how to generate XML files. We need to generate again the XML file if we had change data type, field or data attribute in the database, for example, add more data field, or like changed the field length of some data. They are using the RPGLE system to add data field or change those datas field length for a table. So after they had done any changed to the table, we had to generate again the related XML file by using the XML generator. After generate again the new XML file will be replace the old XML file and store it in the server so that the interface of the web page will be changed too. After finish doing this, then had to doing testing on the field that we had modify or added. For example, we had change the data field length of description field, and then we need to test whether the field length can store the data that we had already set.Week 3 (From 15-6-09 to 19-6-09 )In this week, they teach me how to find out what are those errors and see the error occur in which data field. In the server, there was a folder store the trace file that can let us know what is the related attribute included when we perform an event by clicking a button. This trace file is keep trace the event that we perform according to the users ID that we use for testing. In this trace file, we can know which field had occurred errors, for example we had key in the information in the field and we found that got error occur when we try to save it. If this happened, we can go trace file and find out which data field had occurred error. This is very useful because we can easily and quickly find out the field that had occurred error and can fix it. Every time we click a button for example like save, next confirm and others, then the trace file will keep dock what is the data included and where the data store.Week 4 (From 22-6-09 to 30-6-09 )In this week, I do the same tasks like what had I done last 3 weeks. After they did any change for example like add new data attribute or modify data attribute like length, then I had to generate again the related XML file and replace the old XML file and store it into the server. After that, I will do the testing for the part that already changed, test whether it can perform correctly and no error occurred. If got error, then I had refer to the trace file that store in the server to find out what is the error and which related field occurred the error. If I cant solve the error, then I had to ask them for help and teach me how to solve it. This is the time that I learned from them while solving the problem.Date 30-6-09 _ Signature _______________(ONG KAR CHUN)KOLEJ TUNKU ABDUL RAHMANSCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCEINDUSTRIAL TRAINING (FROM 21/4/08 TO 4/10/08)STUDENTS MONTHLY REPORTPlease tick ( - ) or specify your answer where required.1. So this week, I continue doing my work on SQL statements. In this task, I am using a program name SQL analysis to check whether my SQL statements is correct and can retrieve data from database. After that, I have to briefly explain what is the condition and name of each of the modules. This documentation is do for users to let them understand the condition of those modules and how to perform their task by using those modules in the system. This is software that can connect to our server and it is also link to database. In this software, there is many function that related to network, databases, file system, backup, and some basic operations. They briefly explain to me about what those important functions are and what the purpose of doing those functions. After that, they giving me a task to do, it is about run Sql script and retrieves and check data. The first step I have to do is write my Sql script in excel according to the condition that I need. After that, they give me a condition and i have to write update and insert Sql script in excel. After finish write, I have to make sure that those Sql statement is correct before run the Sql script. When run Sql script, if got any errors, we can refer to the error messages and fix it. The purpose of doing the Sql script in excel is because we need to do a backup copy of the Sql script that we write or modify. Beside that, we also can use tis software to run some Sql statement to retrieve or check data that we need.In this week, I have learn more about the back end system which is RPG system SiPFS batch menu, I had learn this last few weeks ago, but this week is learn more command and know more about the system. Example of the useful or important commands like dspff= display file fields, call, and etc. After I enter some command like dspff lg8068i(files name), then the system will display the file fields from the library that store the file. For example the system will show out the fields name, length, position and text of the file we choose. The system w ill show all the fields name, length, position and text explanation that using in the module. This mean if we change the interface of the modules, example like want to add more fields or update something, then we have to use tis system to add the fields that we need. Example like we wan modify the text fields length, we also need to modify using this system, change the length of the text that we want. After do any changes, then we have to generate the XML file again and replace it to the main server.Week 3 (From 20-7-09 to 24-7-09)Week 4 (From 27-7-09 to 31-7-09)In this week, I am doing testing on what we had done for this month. I am testing the part of sending inform email to users. I testing the system is it will send a correct email to the user after doing some action accept any case, any status changes or etc in the system. I using my email to do this testing, so it is easy for me to refer to what had I done in the system. They give me some condition to test, after accept any case or information in the module, it will be send a information email to my hotmail, so I can check is it the correct email that we need. I have to check is it the information of the email that send to my mail is accurate when refer to the task that I had did in the module of the system. I have to check the information like employees no, name, case files no, date and etc is it same with the case that I perform those tasks. If got any errors and problems, I

HM: Supply Chain and Outsourcing

HM Supply Chain and OutsourcingA transnational corporation is a term referring to an make-up that conducts rail line operations out of countries other than the home nation. As economic globalization becomes an increasing movement in newfangled society, it is not abnormal to bet a greater frequency of these types of corporations conducting their business with a variety of countries. More specifically, over time, nations of the Global southbound involve experienced a dramatic sum up in merged appeal from the turn producing perseverance. It is no surprise then, that with cheap labor, access to dim materials and a promise of rapid instruction, countries in this region consent seen a rise in the demand of foreign establishments vying to carry out production here.As a Hennes and Mauritz (HM) employee of three years, I conduct come to be familiar with their foreign affairs in the Global South, particularly in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is the main region in which HM outsources the production of their merchandise before transportation system the legal age of these goods to the Western world. It is not uncommon for the company to concern many opportunities each year to educate and update their employees of their interactions with Bangladesh. existence presented with one-sided information concerning these interactions, I was made to believe that HMs presence in this country is beneficial for the development of the nation on a global scale. Such things as training programs in the operation of sewing machines with the guarantee of employment at HM argon features I understood to be aiding the country in economic sustainability. However, after canvass on the topic of the effects of globalization and transnational corporations in ontogeny countries, I recognize that there are arguments claiming global outsourcing in the Global South is a obstruction to the possibility of progress in these nations. by means of critical analysis of arguments supporting and aga inst HM in Bangladesh, it is evident that the existence of this company in a developing nation does affect the growth of the country. Despite the fact that HM may abide by the labor and environmental policies of Bangladesh, their presence in the country as a foreign transnational corporation hinders the likelihood of economic or political growth and negatively impacts the nations steps towards development.Founded in 1947, Hennes and Mauritz (HM), is a clothing company that originated in Sweden. Today HM operates out of 38 countries, backed with 87,000 employees (HM 2011 ). Alongside having stores across the globe, HM has special relationships with certain countries in which it outsources the majority of its merchandise. One of the essential countries in which HM relies on for the outsourcing of their merchandise is Bangladesh. Bangladesh, considered being one of the Least Developed countries (LDC), has been tremendously influenced by globalization, particularly the restrictions in t he dress industry over the last decades (Uddin 2006 7). Bangladesh achieved freedom as an independent country in 1971, and after undergoing trade liberalizations in the 1990s, Bangladesh made the switch from an agriculturally dominant parsimoniousness to that of a foodstuff led one (Uddin 2006 7). When multinational corporations such as HM learn that a country is newly liberalized, it is common for them to step in and offer the country their business, along with reasons why their business provide guarantee this country fast development. For Bangladesh, the quotas acted as a guarantee for certain quantities of export sales, constituent to establish market presence (Uddin 2006 7). The concern attached to these types of export sales for Bangladesh, is that the business HM is outsourcing is the most basic among all the aspects that make up this company.HM sources their manual labor to Bangladesh so as to keep new business issues in the mother country. By sourcing non-core business activities a company can center on its core business in a better way (Alim 2010 30). By HM outsourcing its production tasks to Bangladesh, Sweden is sending its no-brainer business to a developing country. The business sector in Bangladesh is less likely to achieve development through HMs outsourcing habits because these second hand projects focus on manual labor. Being that the majority of its market based economy deals with manual labor, Bangladesh is deprived of working with new technology which is the norm for capitalist countries. Therefore development in Bangladesh cannot be attained, as the spirit of the work force is not advancing. The emergence of American, European, Japanese and Third World multinationals has created a new competitive environment, requiring the globalization or at least semi-globalization of corporate strategy (Alim 2010 24). HM is among the worlds leading multinational garment retailers, they promise their customers fashion and quality at the best price (HM 2011 ). In order to remain in a position of competitive advantage, some would say corporations of this nature have to maintain a certain reputation concerning all the aspects of business they conduct. In modern society, methods of sustainable production are being favored as the general public is aware of certain on goings in the production of goods such as child labor, and the exploitation of human rights and environmental laws. Companies of this nature than need to take certain precautions to ensure that their business is being conducted in a manner that follows regulations of the outsourcing country, and in a manner that will result in a satisfied consumer. It is fair to say that the consumer has a significant influence on the way HM conducts their business. Now that awareness regarding the environment is important on a global scale, many consumers first verify that a sustainable company is manufacturing the merchandise they are purchasing. For example, HM has taken initiative in ensuring that the cotton they use in their products is increasingly organic cotton is the raw material we use the most. Although we do not source any raw materials, sendly, we are committed to actively add to reduce their impacts (HM 2009 33). This is extremely popular for HM, who stresses the importance of their products being made in an eco pally environment. Often times, transnational corporations view outsourcing as a win-win situation (in footing of maintaining a good reputation among customers) as they take their production over seas to developing countries that offer cheap production costs, alongside lenient labor and environmental laws.A unique fact when analyzing the outsourcing habits of HM in Bangladesh is that they do not bear any of the factories in which production of HM merchandise takes place. Instead, roughly 700 independent suppliers deliver their products (Alim 2010 62). This allows HM to maintain a clean reputation amongst other multinational corporation s to its customers in terms of abiding by environmental policies and human rights laws. Due to their large purchasing volumes HM is the second largest buyer in Bangladesh as a single buyer (Alim 2010 65), HM plays a large role in the economy of Bangladesh. Seeing as the business they bring to the country is mainly exporting primary material, the country needs to produce these goods in volume for cheap. This can lead to neglect of human rights, The claims surfaced as in Bangladesh, violent protests by tens of thousands of garment workers demanding higher pay forced the closure on Tuesday of 700 factories that supply the top names in Western retail, including HM (Fashion Giant HM evades Taxes in Bangladesh ). Being that HM does not own the factories in which this neglect takes place, they often claim to encourage management of factories to abide by human rights laws. Although, it is hard for one to sort out for certain if this is the case. In an industry where the demand for these p roducts continues to rise, it is very difficult for Bangladesh to break a cycle of human rights abuse in order to meet a quota. A history of exploitation of human rights due to the demand by foreign corporate parts in the country is a factor contributing to the lack of development or potential for development in Bangladesh. There are 2 million individuals that make up the workforce of the garment industry of Bangladesh of this figure, 70% are women (Wulff 2008 1). HM takes time to inform their employees of employment opportunities they provide for those in developing countries. They are particularly proud of the work-training program implemented for those who return interest in making clothes in Bangladesh. HM trains prospective factory employees in operating sewing machines with the promise of guaranteed work after sure-fire completion of the program. Though there are obvious benefits to the idea of providing jobs for people of Bangladesh (especially women), the work-training pro gram HM has put into practice has long-term negative effects on the development of the country. An evident gain of the program being that women are provided an opportunity to work and help support their families, has the negative side effect of women continuing to be perceived as a domestic figure sewing clothes tour men manage the factories.Aside from a gender bias that will be hard to break as the popularity of this program grows, there is also the issue of young adults not continuing in a higher education. A direct correlation can be seen with respect to the number of people working in a factory, and the number of people in that factory who have received a higher degree of education. Of the amount of individuals producing clothes in a given factory in Bangladesh, the majority has achieved no more than than a high school diploma (Uddin 2006 72). With less of the population attaining a hire education, difficulty in developing an interdependent economy arises due to the dependenc e on entry-level positions created by HMs work-training program. One of the reasons why outsourcing in Bangladesh is extremely popular for HM, a company that stresses the importance of their clothes being made in an eco friendly environment, is a result of the leniency of labor and environmental laws. Important for consumers to be reminded, is that policies protecting the environment in the Western world are generally much more strict than those protecting the environment in the Global South. Multinational corporations are often the reason why environmental laws in developing countries are so lenient. Governments and authorities in these countries generally feel pressured to comply with the influences of the business needs of transnational corporations. According to the BGMEA (Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association) officials, the social responsibility initiatives of BGMEA directly responded to the concerns of multinational buy companies the group they believed constituted the most powerful stakeholder group. The BGMEA executives made specific reference to the expectations of, and pressures exerted by, buying companies such as Nike and HM (Azizul 2009 108). These pressures felt display a direct relationship with the development of a country. When the government which is supposedly the highest authority in a given region, is pressured to act a certain way by a foreign investor, the country ceases to develop in an independent manner, as there is a dependence on the business this investor provides. The extent of Bangladeshs dependence on multinational clothing companies such as HM is seen in the fact that around 4,500 garment factories accounted for roughly 80% of the countrys 16-billion-dollar export income in 2009 (Anger after deadly HM factory fire ).In the process of outsourcing the production of their merchandise, HM often demands the usage of raw materials that need to be sourced from various countries. It is interesting though, that t hey leave the project of purchasing these materials to the production factories in Bangladesh. most of the time, suppliers import the raw materials from abroad due to unavailability in the local market. In some cases, HM nominates the raw materials supplier. In that situation, suppliers purchase the raw materials from those nominated sources, whether they are local or foreign (Alim 2010 72-73). HMs Sustainability Report from 2009 states that transporting raw materials from a country outside Bangladesh can take up to 44 days to arrive, causing potential delays in the production of merchandise (Alim 2010 73). Importing materials from nations outside of Bangladesh for the production of goods presents a conflict in terms of development. Firstly being that Bangladesh produces merchandise under the condition of cheap labor, expenses of importing materials from other countries can damage their overall profit rate. More importantly however, is that by sourcing raw materials from places ou tside of Bangladesh, domestic businesses suffer when trying to compete against more powerful foreign corporations. Through this cycle, foreign transnational corporations shape the economy of Bangladesh.Through investigation on the subject of the impact of globalization and the presence of transnational corporations in the Global South, strong arguments declare that global outsourcing in these regions is a barrier to the possibility of development. As an employee of a multinational corporation, I have considered its relationship to Bangladesh through two perspectives. Firstly, the relationship presented to me through HMs viewpoint being that their presence in Bangladesh allows for them to outsource quality merchandise for cheap labor costs while increasing capital of the export sector and creating jobs. As well I have analyzed a more negative stance on the issue of HM in Bangladesh. This being that HM is hindering the possibility for development in Bangladesh through creating depende nce and pressuring the government. Both perspectives have in common the argument that HM in Bangladesh acts as a major influence on the development of the country. Although HM follows the labor and environmental policies in Bangladesh, the companys existence in the country is enough to decrease the likelihood of both economic and political growth while negatively affecting the nations ability to develop.

There admireble image has made the organiza tion more worthfull. Moreover, Dominos is render pleasing taste, quality products with qualified staff, splendid ambience and hygienic surroundings. They are specialized in pizzas. Moreover Motivation level of staff is very high which make the organization more prosperous. They are ISO (International Standard Organization) certified. They have equipped with plenty of resources for operating dis identical activities of the organization. They are providing free home delivery service. They have created monopoly in this sector. An separate big Strength and even a Competitive Advantageis the fact that they have a full service restaurant as well as delivery services. Most of dominos competitors do not have restaurants. Because of the restaurant, Dominos can market too many different segments that other pizza chains cannot. For example, Dominos can market to families much easier than Dominos or Little Caesars.Dominos weaknessesThe fact that Dominos does have a restaurant to run is likewi se a weakness. Dominos has higher overhead costs, due to the restaurant that other competitors dont have to deal with. Another result of higher overhead costs is higher prices Dominos must charge. Obviously, Dominos is not the low cost producer. They rely on their quality pizza and good service to account for their higher prices. They are providing less range of products comparatively with high prices. They are more focused on western taste instead of Eastern.Very few outlets have dine-in facilitiesThe menu is limited and pricey, and there are very few budget items on the menu.OpportunitiesNew markets can be explored and new opportunities they can gain. Dominos can come up with the new products considering the Eastern taste of the people as like McDonalds. variegation of new products can increase their market share. They can reduce their prices because of more dominos.ThreatsDominos number one threats are from their competitors. Currently, their closest competitor is pizza shack who is working to open theirBranch rapidly. Dominos main competitive advantage over Pizza hut istheir Lower price.Evaluate dominos company strategies with other different companiesDominos has succeeded in expanding over continents and observed spectacular fulfillments, and in efforts to develop globally it has not been able to manage the domestic market with full efficiency and as a result, is losing grounds in the domestic market. Dominos has raised the standards of pizza industry to great heights, but in current economic situation, rising commodity prices and decrease in peoples purchasing power, it is struggling to balance between profitability and maintaining its standards. The increasing competition in the fast food industry adds to its array of challenges.A critical factor in Pizza Huts success has been a menu that has constantly evolved and expanded to cater to the changing take and specific preferences of customers in different parts of the world. In having understood the pu lse of the customers, Pizza Hut has clearly established itself as a brand with a Britain heart and Dominos need to learn that.BenchmarkingFor many years as a private company, Dominos really benchmarked against itself, without looking at the outside world. We were eminent of the fact that for many years we had positive same-store sales, which is a big financial indicator of growth and success in the retail world. Well, that was the good parole. The bad news was that during those same years our competitors were growing at a faster rate. Dominos were actually giving up market share. At the same time, dominos were hosting upcountry celebrations of the fact that against our own internal matrix dominos were doing well. Dominos not only had to look at what had been our past results and reconcile how dominos were performing against that benchmark, but also dominos needed to look at the world around us, look at our competitors, and in many instances, I really wanted us to look at the very best in class. Who is out there doing the best possible job in this particular area of business? Dominos need to find out what their results are and start to hold ourselves accountable for that particular level of performance.Dominos accept mediocrity because dominos can submit a lot of people around us who are just as mediocre as dominos are. I want to find the very, very best, and I want to benchmark against them, and I want to get as good or better. I think if I lead that expectation and I get my team and my organization to embrace it, thats how dominos were going to suffer world-class performers.TakeawaysWhen an organization is successful, people tend to believe that they can stop improving. precisely things never stay the same either you get better, or you get worse. The minute companies become complacent and apathetic is the minute they begin to fail. To have a high-performance organization, you must foster a culture of continuous improvement.Dont accept mediocrity. Instead, look to your competitors, and benchmark yourself against them to achieve world-class performance.Organisation systemA businesss strategy is the pattern of decisions and actions that are taken by the business to achieve its goals. A business has a miscellany of goals and objectives. All businesses need to organize their business activities in order to achieve their business objectives. Running a business involves planning the current as well as future activities. Hence, in order to achieve the business objectives, all business organizations adopt different strategies. Similarly, Dominos has adopted many strategies which help achieve the targets set by the main office to the topical anesthetic store opened at Peshawar. Changes are the external as well as internal environment has led Dominos rethink their past strategies and has therefore designed new strategies after noticing the changes in the environment. These environmental changes are seen through the PEST and SWOT analysis. A fter considering all the factors Dominos has decided upon the strategies and their current strategies are divided into five main categories and further have sub-parts. These strategies are -Functional Strategies These are strategies designed to improve the efficiency of a businesss operations. France Section 1770 - 1789 - Crisis in the old regime :: European Europe History

France Section 1770 - 1789 - Crisis in the old regimeThe causes of tensions and conflicts generated in the old regime that contri besidesed to the volcanic eruption of revolution The composition of society was a major contributing factor to the tensions and conflicts generated under the old regime. Society was divided into Three Estates, the first Estate comprised of the clergy (1%), the nobility, and stick around of the population was classified as the Third Estate. Not only was the Third Estate heterogeneous, comprising of the bourgeoise (lawyers, doctors, intellectuals, businessman, the traders, merchants, factory owners), peasants, and beggars, but all terzetto Estates. Their were many distinguishing factors that set the three Estates apart. The first two Estates were associated with the monarchy and avoided or paid little taxes, whilst at the same time earning the most money. The Third Estate paid the highest taxes and earnt the least. Lefebvre saw the bourgeoisie as becoming stronger economically but still maintaining the same legal status as that of the poo delay peasant. The bourgeois resented their nobles, who were simply born into their position of wealth. They nobles believed that their noble birth set them apart from the rest of society. However, the nobility were also dissatisfied under the ancien regime, where they had little, yet still more then the bourgeois, influence in politics. Although the upper clergy enjoyed many privileges, including being exempt from stipendiary taxes, owned about 10 per cent of the land, and received their wealth from the land they owned and the collection of the tithes. Yet, the lower clergy did not enjoy these same privileges, while the Bishop plays the abundant nobleman and spends scandalous sums on hounds, horses, furniture, servants, food and carriages, the parish priest does not have the wherewithal to buy himself a new cassock...the bishops treat their priests , not as honest footman, but as stable-boys. It is clear that social unrest was felt by the whole population. Prior to 1780s the people of France blindly accepted the foudations of the Ancien Regime. The period known as the prescience or Age of Reason saw philosophes such as Voltaire and Rousseau attack the Church, and the absolute power of the King and the inequitable social composition of society. For the first time people were inquiring the society in which they lived. It became the fashionable conversation of the times, and this propoganda took place in salons, cafes and even educational institutions such as the museum of Paris.

Comparing Destruction in Steinbecks Flight and Londons To Build a Fir

Journey to Destruction in Steinbecks Flight and Londons To Build a Fire Not many people progress to to face death in the dusty wasteland of the Arctic or rugged mountains of California, but Pepe and the man do. Although the ironic destruction of Pepe and the man were caused by unyielding forces of nature, their attitudes and reasons for going on their journeys differed. The setting in both stories consisted of extreme climate and conditions. In Flight the climate was desert hot during the day and chilling cold at night. The Torres family had their farm, a few sloping acres above a cliff that dropped to the brown reefs and to the hissing white pees of the ocean. Behind the farm the muffin mountains stood up against the sky. Pepe spent his last days in the mountains where the conditions were harsh. His throat was almost closed with thirst. He crawled into the heavy brush feeling with his fingers for water. There was no water in the bed of the stream, only damp earth. In contrast, the climate in To Build a Fire was frigidly cold. Day had broken cold and gray, ...
